Kagari 篝火 5″ Slicing Knife – Flame Beneath the Stillness
Named Kagari (篝火), meaning “watchfire” or “signal flame,” this slicing knife embodies the quiet intensity of a steady flame—controlled, focused, unwavering. Though modest in size, its pointed precision dances through fruit skins, herbs, and fine proteins with a heatless sharpness. It is the spark that refines your rhythm in the kitchen.
Forged from durable 7CR17 high-carbon stainless steel and finished with a laser-etched Damascus pattern, the Kagari glows with both strength and subtlety. Its 5-inch (13 cm) blade is slender and agile, ideal for intricate slicing and delicate cuts. The gentle taper allows for effortless control through citrus, tomatoes, and fillets, while the 0.8 inch (2 cm) blade height keeps the knife nimble without compromising leverage.
The pakkawood handle—ergonomic, moisture-resistant, and polished to a deep ember hue—offers confident grip and enduring comfort. At 24.5 cm (9.6 in) overall, Kagari moves like a whisper across the board—precise and composed, even in the heat of preparation.
A proud member of the Tenketsu 天刃 collection, Kagari is the ember to Gekiryū’s current and Kohane’s breeze—subtle, essential, and exacting in its purpose.
