Shinkai 深海 7″ Santoku Knife – Flow Beneath the Surface
Named Shinkai (深海), meaning “deep sea,” this Santoku knife channels the quiet force and layered grace of the ocean floor. With its wide profile and granton edge, it glides through vegetables, meats, and fish like a tide—steady, unbroken, and deeply composed. In every motion, Shinkai reflects the calm precision of water under pressure—silent, powerful, and cleansing.
Forged from resilient 7CR17 high-carbon stainless steel and adorned with a wave-inspired laser-etched Damascus pattern, Shinkai blends elegance with enduring edge retention. The 18 cm (7 in) blade is optimized for all-purpose slicing, mincing, and chopping, with a tall 4.5 cm (1.8 in) height that grants knuckle clearance and confident leverage. The granton (hollow-ground) edge reduces friction and keeps slices clean and controlled.
Its pakkawood handle—balanced, moisture-resistant, and shaped for comfort—offers a secure hold through extended prep sessions. Measuring 31 cm (12.2 in) in total length, Shinkai is the ocean’s calm turned blade: versatile, grounded, and ever-flowing.
A proud member of the Tenketsu 天刃 collection, Shinkai completes the quartet—Kohane’s breeze, Kagari’s flame, Gekiryū’s current—now with the depth of the sea.
