Suikage 水影 Ripple Dish Set
The Suikage (水影, “water shadow”) Ripple Dish Set captures the instant a raindrop touches still water, sending quiet rings across the surface. Each dish is wheel-thrown, then gently pressed while the clay is soft, leaving concentric ripples that guide sauces toward the centre.
A mineral-rich glaze, fired at 1,300 °C, deepens to charcoal black and then blooms into speckles of ivory, sky blue, moss green, or sunset copper. Because the glaze moves unpredictably in the kiln, the pattern on every piece is unique—no two dishes share the same constellation.
Measuring about 9 cm in diameter and 2 cm high, the dishes hold soy sauce, ponzu, or a pinch of sea-salt flakes without crowding the table. The set contains four colour variations, allowing each guest to enjoy a different hue or letting you group several plates together for shared condiments.
